After over a decade of hanging up my pen and succumbing to the busyness and responsibilities of adult life, I woke up one morning terrified that I’d leave this earth without telling the stories that have been building up inside of me.

In the time since I shutdown the original Waila Caan blog, I have birthed two children with the man I married, navigated a corporate career, developed a love for baking cupcakes and an obsession with Nollywood romance movies.

This new space I am curating will be built on honesty, imagination, and reflection. Whether a story is true, invented, or somewhere in between, I want it to resonate.

I’m interested in the emotional detail of everyday life: the experiences we grapple with, the versions of ourselves we perform, and the histories that inevitably shape how we navigate love, life and belonging.
